Identify the gap
Accessible implementation science teaching for mixed professional audiences.
Teaching & education
Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, with a distinction-level PGCert in Higher Education. I lead MSc teaching, supervise emerging researchers and design practical implementation science learning.
I have been involved in teaching in various capacities alongside my research fellow roles. Since re-joining the University of Birmingham in the PSRC I have become more involved with teaching: I graduated from the PGCert in Higher Education with Distinction, alongside taking on responsibilities such as leading the academic skills portion of the Respiratory Medicine MSc and leading its Dissertation Module.
I have also developed an online CPD course in Implementation Science, drawing on a mix of original self-recorded content and a series of masterclasses by key implementation scientists — see the full case study on how it was built. In the next five years I envisage co-supervising at least two PhD students to completion. My publications are also increasingly being used organically in teaching at other institutions, such as Keele University.
